Although large companies with heavy capital are able to easily scale their products and blast their message to the masses, for others the industry can be outrageously competitive with outdated demands that involve high risk and low profit margins.

The Sustainable Fashion Alliance was founded in 2016 to empower small and mid-sized apparel and accessories brands with resources, shared opportunities, strategy sessions and creative avenues to market. We know that in order to enhance our local fashion community, and create impactful momentum in the industry, our voice is more potent in union.
Founders
Andrea Plell, Co-Founder, is a sustainable fashion consultant and creative director passionate about supporting a paradigm shift in the fashion industry. In 2008 she founded Ecologique Fashion, a PR and events company that works exclusively with ethical brands. Plell is also a fashion journalist with published works on Ethical
Fashion Forum, Brooklyn Fashion+ Design Accelerator, Remake, SOMA Magazine, Ecouterre and Eluxe Magazine.
Joyce Hu, Co-Founder, is the Marketing and Creative Director for Wildlife Works, a world leader in the REDD+ carbon market, with the only carbon neutral, fair trade factory protecting wildlife on their Kenya site. Joyce also founded thebookr.com, the first online direct-to-talent booking platform; and most recently, launched
marlinray.com, beach accessories that bring together beauty, function and sustainability.
